The Home Office publishes how many visas are granted rather than an approval percentage for the route, endorsing bodies do not publish comparable figures year on year, and the endorsement statistics still circulating online are several years old. Treat any confident-sounding percentage you see quoted with suspicion.<\/p>\n<p>The more useful point is that the odds are not a fixed property of the route. Outcomes are driven almost entirely by things within your control:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Category.<\/strong> Applying under Exceptional Talent with a record that supports Exceptional Promise is the most common avoidable refusal I see.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The right endorsing body.<\/strong> Digital technology, arts and culture, and academic research are assessed by different bodies against different expectations. Applying to the wrong one, or forcing a hybrid career into the wrong box, costs people their case. A general career summary, however impressive, loses to a modest record where every document is tied explicitly to a criterion.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recommendation letters.<\/strong> These do more work than almost anything else in the pack, and generic letters from senior names sink cases that should have succeeded. Once you are endorsed, the visa application is largely a check of eligibility, identity, fees and documents, so the effort belongs at stage one.<\/p>\n<p>A refusal is also not the end of it. There is no cap on how many times you can apply, and depending on what went wrong you can either ask for an endorsement review or rebuild and submit a fresh application. People do get in on the second attempt, provided they fix the argument rather than adding more pages to the same one.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than a headline number, I would look at your actual evidence and tell you where it sits.
