For this you will need to confirm your right to work or rent online.<\/p>\n<p>You will usually get BRP if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get a Global Talent Visa<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Extend your visa for more than 6 months<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply for permanent residence in the UK<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transfer the visa to a new passport<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apply for certain travel documents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You do not need to submit a separate application to the BRP.<\/p>\n<p>All new BRP expires on December 31, 2024.If you have a residence permit in the UK longer than this period, you will switch to using \u201ceVisa\u201d before your BRP expires.<\/p>\n<p>BRPs differ from Biometric Residence Cards (BRCs). BRCs are also referred to as \u201cUK Resident Cards\u201d. You may have one if you are in the UK as a family member of someone from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein. On BRC is written \u201cresidence card\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3>When you can\u2019t get BRP<\/h3>\n<p>You cannot obtain a BRP if you use the UK Immigration: ID Check app to verify your identity when applying for a stay in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>If you apply to the BRP, you will not get it.<\/p>\n<h3>What is stated on your BRP<\/h3>\n<p>Your BRP will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your name, date and place of birth<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your fingerprints and face photos (this is your biometric information)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your immigration status and any conditions of your stay<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">information about whether you have access to public funds, such as benefits and medical services<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the back of your BRP may be a National Insurance Number (NI).Not all BRPs have this number \u2013 it depends on factors such as the date of issue and your visa status.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to apply for a NI number if all of the following conditions are met:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is not on your BRP.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You no longer have him.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you plan to work, apply for benefits, apply for a student loan or pay class 3 voluntary contributions to National Insurance<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) can be used to confirm your: Personality Right to Study rights to any public services or benefits you are entitled to You can\u2019t use your BRP to confirm your right to work or rent a home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-639","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-documents"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>What is BRP (Biometric Residence Permit)<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"What is a BRP (Biometric Residence Permit) in the UK?
