How to move your family on a talent visa?
As a holder of a Global Talent visa to England, you have a great advantage – you can bring with you your family members or partner with the same set of rights as you have by issuing a Dependant visa. In this case, they will be considered your dependents. Dependant Visa is issued for the same period as the main visa. It is important to remember that when applying you will have to provide proof of affinity or close relationships.
Which family can you move?
- husband, wife or partner;
- Children under 18 years of age (a child aged 16 years and older should not lead an independent life).
A child over the age of 18 if he is currently in the UK can also file for a Dependant visa. If a child is dependent over the age of 18, he can not apply for a dependent visa if he is outside the UK, he will need to obtain his own immigration status to live in the UK. They can apply from the UK if they are already here as dependents.
What if you are not officially married?
Rules voiced. If you and your partner are not officially married, you will have to prove that you have lived together for at least two years at the time of application, your previous relationship with other partners has been terminated permanently and you must not be in close relationship, which may prevent formal marriage in the UK.
As proof of your relationship you can provide:
Lease agreement/documents confirming the right of ownership
Excerpt from the joint bank account
– Passports/ID cards/driving licenses, which indicate your address of residence
Joint flights or hotel reservations.
You can provide other evidence. The main thing is that the documents are official and indicate the FIO of each of you and the address of residence. If you have moved, then you need to show several contracts proving that you have lived together for the last 2 years.
We also need to collect Letters from family and friends confirming your close relationships and address The joint photographs.
How to Apply?
Members of the family of a Global Talent visa holder will be required to apply for a visa online. It is possible to apply for a dependent visa at the same time as the primary applicant or after the primary applicant has received the visa.
Once the application is sent, the system will generate a checklist of the necessary supporting documents that will need to be provided. You will also need to register for the reception to take fingerprints and take a photo at the visa center.
Usually the list of documents is:
- The actual passport
- Medical certificate confirming that they are healthy from tuberculosis (if necessary)
- Official report of any criminal convictions (if necessary)
- Certificate of marriage or civil partnership (for married or civil partners)
- Proof of affinity with the principal applicant (for those who are not married or in civil partnership)
- Birth certificate (for children up to 18 years).
Please note that if the submitted documents are not in English, you must provide the document in the original language and its complete translation.
Your family members or partner will need to obtain a biometric residence permit within 30 days of their declaration of arrival in the UK.The visa issued by them will coincide with the expiration date of the primary Global Talent visa applicant.
How much does a dependent visa cost?

Visa fee: £623
Removal of biometric data – £19.20
