You do not collect anything anymore. BRP cards stopped being issued and every one of them expired on 31 December 2024, so there is no Post Office trip, no police station and no sponsor involved. Since 2025 a Global Talent visa is granted straight as an eVisa: an online record of your status held by the Home Office, linked to your UKVI account and your passport.
What to do once your visa is approved:
- Sign in to your UKVI account and check that your status shows correctly: dates, type of permission, conditions. The account is created during the application, so there is nothing separate to apply for.
- Check the passport on file. Travel to the UK on the passport listed in the account. If you change passports, update the details there. It is free.
- Learn how share codes work. Employers and landlords get a code from gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status, not a document, and right to work and right to rent need separate codes.
- Do not wait for anything in the post. No card is coming, and that is normal.
The full picture, including how to set up the account, what to do if you get locked out, how dependants are handled and what to show at the border, is in the detailed guide: BRP is gone: how the UK eVisa works.
